This gorgeous Slate Gray 356 Speedster Replica was built by Vintage Motorcars of CA and was special ordered by a gentleman in Colorado who actually ordered 2 brand new ones from us at the same time. We delivered both cars to him a little over 2 years ago. Unfortunately , serious health issues kept him from enjoying either one and he reached out to me recently to see if I could find new homes that would drive and enjoy them. This Speedster still looks like it did the day it was completed and has just 120 miles on it. Finished in an Iconic color combination and loaded up with options, this one truly stands out! Options include the Hard Tonneau with headrest, Rudge Styled wheels, Independent Rear Suspension, E-brake mounted under dash, diamond stitched leather interior, German Square Weave Carpeting, heated seats, driving lights, Pirelli Tire upgrade, A1 center exhaust and more! Everything from Paint and body quality, performance, options, fit and finish and right down to the undercarriage is a notch above!! This particular build was done in an original 356 color called Slate Gray which can look almost black in the shade but lightens up quite a bit in the sunlight. It is absolutely stunning. The fit and finish most likely exceeds the original. As you will see, this one s0me great features including the hard tonneau cover which is removable, GT Louvered engine lid, GT bumper and rocker panel trim, driving lights, an awesome set of Rudge Knock off styled wheels, and all of the Porsche emblems to add to the authenticity. With just under 120 miles the paint and body look fantastic. I always recommend driving these cars top down and with the hard tone cover this one has a race day look that can easily be swapped out with the full convertible top and boot cover. The original owner never used the black soft top but it is like new with window inserts and a matching boot cover when the top is down for a clean, sophisticated look. You have the option of the installed Hard Tonneau with headrest or removing it and using the standard boot cover. As you will see this Slate Gray machine has an awesome stance and will attract all the attention you can handle!
Complementing the gorgeous Slate Gray exterior is an equally stunning Cardinal Red diamond stitched interior with light gray German Square Weave carpeting. The colors really accentuate the beauty of this car and looks even better in person than it shows in the pics. The Speedster seats are very comfortable. Door panels have the polished door pulls. Matching dash pad and passenger side grab handle. Period correct VDO gauges with a GPS Speedometer and digital odometer allow the driver to monitor the speed and performance of this air cooled Speedster. E-brake mounted under dash just like the originals. Beautiful woodgrain wheel with a Porsche horn button and vintage style turn signal lever adds to the authenticity. Retrosound Bluetooth stereo system looks vintage but allows you to use your phone hands free and play your music off your phone. This 356 is also optioned with heated seats , and a Vintage Speed Shifter for a crisp, short throw pattern for your driving pleasure. Shelf pad behind the front seats. Custom set of Coco mats have been added for that finishing touch. Simply gorgeous interior!!!
Turn the key and let the fun begin!!! As impressed as I was with the cosmetic improvements on these new builds I am equally impressed with the performance these new cars offer. With just under 120 miles this Speedster runs and drives like it did when we first delivered it a little over 2 years ago. The 2332 cc. is a brand new, fully balanced motor with top quality components built by Pat Downs Performance. Mated to a 3.44 Ring and Pinion Transmission this combination provides nice torque and acceleration in 1st-3rd and also allows easy highway cruising at 75 mph. Empi 5 lug 5x205mm 4 wheel disc brakes stop this Speedster precisely with ease. Other features include electronic ignition, stock dog house oil cooler and remote 72pass oil cooler with electric fan thermostatically controlled, Amazing handling thanks to the upgraded Independent Rear Suspension ( IRS) ordered on this one. This one also got the very expensive set of Rudge Knock off styled wheels custom built by Sons of Boyd that are wrapped in a set of upgraded Pirelli tires. Since this car has sat more than it has been driven the past 2 years we went ahead and did the break in oil change and drained the fuel tank and added fresh fuel. This one also breathes out the A1 performance single exit exhaust that has a nice note. The undercarriage is also nicely detailed and floorpan protected with a bed liner material to ensure it lasts the test of time. Make sure you watch the video to hear this car start up and running. These cars handle the road beautifully and are an absolute joy to drive. Inside the trunk is fully carpeted with matching German Square Weave carpeting.
