This beautiful Slate Gray 356 Speedster was custom built by Vintage Motorcars of CA for one of our customers a little under 4 years ago. It still looks like it did the day it was completed and has just under 1420 miles on it. As you will see this one really stands out and was ordered nicely loaded up including the hard tonneau, diamond stitched leather interior, German Square Weave carpeting, bluetooth stereo, GT Louvered engine lid, leather hood straps, and more!! These cars are built on custom shortened, reconditioned VW chassis with a reinforced steel sub frame. The hand laid fiberglass body is top quality and workmanship is second to none. This particular build was done in an original 356 color called Slate Gray which can look almost black in the shade but lightens up quite a bit in the sunlight. It is absolutely stunning. The fit and finish most likely exceeds the original. As you will see, this one s0me great features including the hard tonneau cover which is removable, GT Louvered engine lid, Spyder Shine down license plate light, leather hood straps, driving lights, mesh headlight guards, dual side view mirrors mounted on the fenders, Vintage 190 Wheels with emblem hub caps, and all of the Porsche emblems to add to the authenticity. With just under 1420 miles the paint and body are near flawless. I always recommend driving these cars top down and with the hard tone cover this one has a race day look that can easily be swapped out with the full convertible top or full tonneau cover. The original owner never used the black soft top but it is like new with window inserts and a matching boot cover when the top is down for a clean, sophisticated look. You have the option of the installed Hard Tonneau with headrest or removing it and using the standard boot cover. As you will see this Slate Gray has an awesome stance and will attract all the attention you can handle.
Complementing the gorgeous Slate Gray exterior is an equally stunning Cardinal Red diamond stitched interior with light gray German Square Weave carpeting. The colors really accentuate the beauty of this car and looks even better in person than it shows in the pics. The Speedster seats are very comfortable. Door panels have the polished door pulls. Matching dash pad and passenger side grab handle. Period correct VDO gauges with a GPS Speedometer and digital odometer allow the driver to monitor the speed and performance of this air cooled Speedster. Beautiful banjo steering wheel with a Porsche horn button and vintage style turn signal lever adds to the authenticity. Retrosound Bluetooth stereo system looks vintage but allows you to use your phone hands free and play your music off your phone. This 356 is also optioned with heated seats , and a Vintage Speed Shifter for a crisp, short throw pattern for your driving pleasure. Shelf pad behind the front seats. Custom set of Coco mats have been added for that finishing touch. Simply gorgeous interior!!!
Turn the key and let the fun begin!!! As impressed as I was with the cosmetic improvements on these new builds I am equally impressed with the performance these new cars offer. With just under 1420 miles this Speedster runs and drives like it did when we first delivered it a little under 4 years ago. The 1915 cc. is a brand new, fully balanced motor with top quality components from CB Performance.Originally Rated at 110 hp with the dual Kadron carburetors and 8.2:1 compression ratio this motor pulls strong and crisp. I would be happy to provide more technical data on the engine build for those who need it. Transmission is a 4:12 with :82 4th gear ring and pinion freeway flyer type. This combination provides nice torque and acceleration in 1st-3rd and also allows easy highway cruising at 75 mph. Empi 5 lug 5x205mm 4 wheel disc brakes stop this Speedster precisely with ease. Other features include electronic ignition, stock dog house oil cooler and remote 72pass oil cooler with electric fan thermostatically controlled, The initial Break in oil change was done at about 400 miles and it recently had another oil change and valve adjustment. Polished Vintage 190 Aluminum 5 lug wheels with emblem hub caps look great. Nice tone from the dual tip exhaust. The engine bay was detailed out for show purposed with matching diamond stitch panels that could be removed if not to your taste. The undercarriage is also nicely detailed and floorpan protected with a bed liner material to ensure it lasts the test of time. Make sure you watch the video to hear this car start up and running. These cars handle the road beautifully and are an absolute joy to drive. Inside the trunk is fully carpeted with matching German Square Weave carpeting.
