These 3rd Generation C-10 Fleetside Pick up trucks have been rapidly gaining in popularity and are a top pick for enthusiasts looking for an affordable classic truck that can also be driven and enjoyed. As with any classic it is always great to locate one that has lived a dry, rust free life and then was treated to a professional level restoration if you are concerned about making a smart investment. This gorgeous Bright Red ’85 C-10 lived most if not all its life in Georgia and received an eye popping paint job on an extremely straight body about 3 months ago. This is not one of those “patina” trucks…it has a high end, super slick paint job and was an original Red truck. The interior was completely redone and under the hood is a super strong GM Crate 350 V8 mated to a smooth shifting Turbo 350 Automatic transmission. It is nicely equipped with Power Steering, Power front disc brakes, Cold A/C, Tilt column, Power Windows and Power door locks. Slightly lowered with a great stance and look! This Red Beauty will be one you will not only thoroughly enjoy driving, but it is also a truck you can take to the shows and cruise-ins and take home a few trophies if that is what you enjoy. Or, use it as a daily driver if you want! I am confident the next lucky owner of this Square Body Silverado is going to be absolutely thrilled when it arrives to his or her driveway. As mentioned, this truck is believed to have most if not all its life in the sunny, dry climate here in Georgia so rust was not an issue. The gentleman I purchased this truck from has owned it for the past 2 years and after driving it quite a bit, decided it deserved a quality restoration which he proceeded to have done over the past year. To achieve a super slick body the bed was removed from the frame, doors were taken off and the body was carefully block sanded, prepped and treated to a fantastic paint job done in base/clear using gorgeous Torrid Red GM color that is a bit brighter than the original Apple Red this ’85 was born with. Of course all fo the jams were done and while the bed was off the frame was sanded and sprayed in black. The bed itself was in great shape and he decided to use a high end bed liner so that the next owner could get some good use out of it if desired without having to worry about chipping and scratching the paint…it looks awesome! Clean carfax report showing no accidents and showing it has been in GA at least since 1992. Once the paint was completed he knew he would have to change out most of the chrome and trim including new grille, headlight bezels, door handles, emblems, front and rear bumpers, side view mirrors and more. The only trim piece that was not changed out is the tailgate panel which has a minor flaw on it but still looks great and the rear window trim which shows a little age. New weatherstripping and door window felts all around to complete the fresh look. So many of these trucks are marketed with a “patina” look which basically means they have old paint jobs and don’t look all that great up close unless that is the look you want. If you prefer your truck has more of a show quality finish then this Torrid Red beauty will put a smile on your face as well as all of those who see it. While it is not flawless, I would definitely consider the paint job to be local show quality and looks almost wet. Quite frankly I did not notice any paint chips or flaws to mention but lets assume there might be something really small I may have missed. It was wet sanded and buffed out so it is show ready! Body lines are great overall and doors shut really well. I think the photo tour of the body below will show you what you need to see.
This bright red beauty is not just another pretty face….she has an interior to match her external beauty!! The black interior was completely redone including new door panels, new high quality dash pad ( not a plastic dash cap), re-upholstered factory bench seat, new carpeting, headliner, dash bezel, and more. The original Comfort tilt steering wheel looks great and functions as it should. Power windows and power door locks function perfectly thanks to new motors and switches. Three point seat belts for driver and passenger with center lap belt to accommodate the third passenger as well. Air conditioning Is blowing nice and cold with a new compressor and accumulator done by previous owner. Aftermarket Kenwood am/fm/cd for tunes when desired. All of the gauges, turn signals, and lights appear to be working correctly. I did not try the cruise control but I would not be surprised if that is working too. Under the hood is a super strong GM Crate 350 4bbl V8 that replaced the original 305 motor and is believed to have just about 10,000 miles on it although there is no documentation. We drove this truck about 50 miles the day we bought it and it performs fantastic with plenty of power, great compression and pulls strong. I would estimate the horsepower at 275-300hp and it breathes out a nice set of headers and out though the new dual exhaust with a great tone thanks to the Magna Flow mufflers. It was 90 degrees the day I bought it and it ran nice and cool on the highway and locally. Mated to a smooth shifting 350 Automatic transmission with factory 2.73 gears in the rear, this C-10 launches nicely but is also a perfect highway cruiser. Power steering handles beautifully and power front disc brakes stop this truck with ease. The previous owner decided to lower this truck slightly but did not give it the “slammed” look but that could be easily achieved if desired. Front drop spindles and reversed rear shackles achieve a nice 2-3 drop giving this Square body a sweet stance with a slight hot rod rake. It is sitting on a brand new set of Gray Spoke 20″ Ridler wheels wrapped in brand new radials slightly wider in the rear putting plenty of rubber to the road. As you will see the engine bay has been nicely detailed as well so you will be proud to pop the hood at local events. Undercarriage is rock solid with no rust issues and looks very nice. This truck really runs, drive and sounds as good as it looks!! Make sure you listen to the video that follows the pics below so you can hear this C-10 Silverado start up and running!!

Hopefully you can see that this is not just another average classic square body….this ’85 C-10 Silverado is definitely a notch above most and as a result it is priced accordingly but still very affordable and I am sure the next lucky owner is going to be smiling from ear to ear when it arrives!
