This is an absolutely awesome, near flawless, Phantom Black with Red interior, very low mileage 2005 Pontiac GTO. We recently acquired this car from a gentleman who seriously did not want to let his baby go. In fact we first contacted him when we found out he was considering selling the car about 5 months ago when he had been out of work for several months and feared that he would have to let go of his toy for financial reasons. It really tore him up because this was a dream car for him and he stored the car all winter and only drove it on sunny days. He was hopeful that a new job was coming so he told me he would keep me updated if he decided to sell it. He emailed me a month later to let me know he was back to work at least on a temporary position and that if he ever decided he needed to sell it I would be first on his list. I was glad he was back to work, but unfortunately several months late the company he was working for got bought out and things were not looking good. He made the decision to let go of the car so that he would not be stressed out financially. Definitely sad for him but quite lucky for the next owner…maybe you!!! I have always admired these cars on the road knowing that not only did they pack a 400hp LS2 Corvette motor under the hood but, with Pontiac gone, these were sure to be future collectibles. This GTO was adult owned and never raced. The only performance modifications made by the previous owner were to the suspension as he knew that they did not come from the factory handling quite as well as they could so he spent some $$$$ with quality upgrades. It’s hard to beat the black on red combination and the truly outstanding condition of this particular pampered car. This GTO needs nothing and if you have been looking for one, this is the car to buy! As you would expect, with only 21,000 miles on it the body of this GTO it is in fantastic condition. I will not say perfect because if you look really hard you may find a rock chip or two but it is truly in outstanding condition! This car has a perfect Auto Check report with a score of 91 compared to the average of 70-83. I would be happy to provide the report for serious buyers. Of course this ’05 GTO was never in any accidents nor has it ever had any paint work done to it. Well, actually the only paint work was done by the previous owner as he did not care for the matte black finish on the panel beneath the rear bumper with the “GTO” letters on it so he had this panel painted the same Phantom Black base coat/clear coat as the rest of the car. The body is straight as an arrow and there are no dings or scrapes that I detected. Windows have all been tinted but should pass any state inspection. It truly is in just about showroom new condition. Take a look for yourself:
As you will see below the red interior is an awesome compliment to the black exterior and is also in amazing, close to new condition. The drivers side seat shows almost no wear and it does not appear that this car ever had any passengers in it judging from the condition of the rear and passenger seats. The interior is a 2+2 design although realistically the rear seat is best suited for kids rather then adults. The dash is laid out really well on these GTO’s and the red gauge package and red accent stitching on the shifter provide a really slick look inside. Great sounding Blaupunkt am/fm/cd changer stereo system!! Seats are amazingly comfortable and ergonomically designed to provide maximum support for aggressive driving. Both drivers and passengers front seats are power. No surprises, just a gorgeous and powerful GTO inside!!!
Of course the real fun comes in when you turn the key and hear the sweet rumble from the dual exhaust emitted from the 6.0 Litre 400hp LS2 V8. This of course was an upgrade from the 2004 GTO that originally only had 350hp from the LS1 motor. This upgrade definitely makes the 05-06 models more desirable!! The 4-speed Automatic transmission shifts strong and smooth making this Goat a blast to drive and surprisingly fuel efficient on the highway where you can get up to 25 mpg out of this Modern Muscle car! This is a contemporary performance car with great handling and cornering, smooth ride and tremendous comfort! Many people felt these GTO’s could have received better handling and suspension components and the previous owner was of that mind set. So, he decided to do something about it and added Pedders Street II suspension package which included springs, struts, shocks, stabilizer bushings, front radius arm bushings, castor bushings, strut mounts and bearings, front stabilizer bushings, new front end links, and new front and rear end link bushings. This baby handles like it is on rails now….fun!!!!! A great set of kumho summer performance tires were added and have plenty of tread life left. Stopping power from the 4 wheel disc brakes is outstanding. Awesome tone from the stock dual exhaust. I could go on and on but if you want all of the specs and reviews a simple google search will yield you all the info you would want. I have driven this car and it is awesome!!!!
