This particular car was special ordered for a customer who has purchased 6 of our cars and it was delivered in November, 2025. This customer has quite the car collection and loves driving and showing off each and every one of them. This Super Widebody was no different and he won several trophies with it but he actually ordered 2 more from us recently so he decided it made sense to make room for the new ones coming in. This means it is available for the next lucky owner to enjoy without the long wait time on a new build.
I have bought and sold used 356 Speedster Replicas, built by various manufacturers for over 15 years so I have seen quite a few. These cars are built on custom shortened, reconditioned VW chassis with a reinforced steel sub frame. The hand laid fiberglass body is top quality and workmanship is second to none. The gentleman who we built this Super Widebody for put a lot of thought into the build and stayed with an iconic Ivory color that really looks amazing. He added the GT Louvered deck lid, Spyder side view mirrors mounted on the fenders, Spyder shine down license plate light, and kept the body and bumpers smooth so that the beautiful Super Widebody lines speak for themselves. He had PPF ( paint protection film) applied to the front end including the bumper as well as on the lower part of the rear fenders to prevent rock chips and the car is close to flawless. It is hard to capture the beauty and stance this car in pics but I assure you it is a serious head turner and crowd pleaser.
I always recommend driving these cars top down but of course it also has a full black canvas soft top with a boot cover that matches the Cardinal Red interior and window inserts.

Complementing the sexy Ivory exterior is an equally eye-catching Cardinal Red interior with Ivory piping . Black German square weave carpeting adorns the interior and a custom set of coco mats were added. The Speedster seats are very comfortable. Matching dash pad and passenger side grab handle with the Outlaw badge on the dash. Period correct VDO gauges with GPS Speedometer and a digital odometer allow the driver to monitor the speed and performance of this air cooled Speedster. Beautiful woodgrain steering wheel with a vintage style turn signal lever adds to the authenticity. Vintage Speed shifter offers a tight short throw shift pattern and the Aluminum race pedals match the look of this car. This 356 is also optioned with heated seats for both driver and passenger for those of you in cooler climates. This one also has the Parking brake mounted under dash adding to the authenticity. Turn the key and let the fun begin!!! This Speedster was driven and enjoyed by its current classic car enthusiast owner in the beautiful Tennessee weather. As impressed as I was with the cosmetic improvements on these new builds I am equally impressed with the performance these new cars offer. The 2332 cc. is a brand new, fully balanced motor with top quality components from CB Performance and built by Pat Downs Performance. Rated at 125 hp with the dual Kadron carburetors and 8.2:1 compression ratio this motor pulls strong and crisp. I would be happy to provide more technical data on the engine build for those who need it. Transmission is a 3.44 ring and pinion for easy highway cruising. This combination provides excellent torque and acceleration in 1st-3rd and also allows easy highway cruising at 75 mph. Other features include electronic ignition, stock dog house oil cooler and remote 72pass oil cooler with electric fan thermostatically controlled. Empi 4 wheel disc brakes. This one was also ordered with the IRS , independent rear suspension for the best handling during spirited drives and an amazing set of Sons of Boyd custom staggered polished 17″ wheels give this Super Widebody the perfect stance. The wheels are 10″ wide in the rear and 8″ wide up front. Of course this Super Widebody has an exhaust to match its stance with the upgraded A1 performance single exit exhaust with the double barrel mufflers that growl nicely on acceleration.. The customer selected the slightly larger fuel tank painted to match the exterior and rhino lining throughout the trunk area for a beautiful finishing touch to show off at the shows. The undercarriage is also nicely detailed and floorpan protected with a bed liner material to ensure it lasts the test of time. Make sure you watch the video to hear this car start up and running.
